Led with energy and enthusiasm by Student Council, the campaign invited the school community to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries — and the response was nothing short of inspiring!

Congratulations to Zavryl Adelina Roux, Matteo Bazzo, Nikolas Jurcic, Jaiden Opuko, and Phoenix Lazar, who each submitted an original and professional business plan to the competition.

On Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, the St. Jean de Brébeuf Boys Baseball Team faced off against their cross-town rivals, St. Thomas More, in the HWCDSB Championship Game.

On Wednesday, November 5th, all Grade 9 students at St. Jean de Brébeuf CSS will take part in Take Our Kids to Work Day, a national program that provides students with the opportunity to spend a day in the workplace, job shadowing a trusted adult. This experience helps students make connections between school and the working world, while giving them a first-hand look at different career pathways, responsibilities, and skills needed in today’s workforce.

On Tuesday, September 30, SJB will recognize Orange Shirt Day in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. All students and staff are encouraged to wear an orange shirt with uniform bottoms. Standard uniform guidelines apply for all other items.

We are thrilled to extend a community invitation for an extraordinary showcase of talent featuring our very own SJB Arts students. It encourages engagement with the surrounding landscape, offering space to reflect and pray.” To begin Catholic Education Week 2024 – “We are Called to Love” on Sunday, May 5th, 2024 students and staff of the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board will be participating in our eighteenth annual “Walk with Christ - Justice for the Poor” Pilgrimage, an event that will raise money to support development projects in Uganda, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.

Programmania is an annual computer competition meticulously organized by the Business and Computer Department Heads within the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Founded in 2000 by the secondary school Business Computer Department Heads, Programmania serves as a platform for students to showcase their prowess in computing skills by competing against teams from various schools.

Every school day, Tastebuds student nutrition programs across Hamilton serves nutritious meals and snacks at schools and community sites in 118 programs at 106 locations. These programs benefit children, youth, families and neighbourhoods. Tastebuds programs are universal.

Brebeuf coach Jae Dunphy’s first thought after winning the 2023-24 senior boys’ high school basketball championship was about getting a haircut. It’s one he says isn’t particularly necessary or wanted at this time.

Students in grades 11 and 12 from across the city whose studies are focused on healthcare, came to participate in simulation exercises at St Joseph’s Centre for Education, Simulation and Learning (CELS) during Learning Pillar Week. The students participate in the “Specialist High Skills Majoring in Healthcare” program, which is an approved educational program that allows them to gain credits toward their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

On Thursday, February 22nd, SJB Pride is hosting its annual Ally Pledge Day. Students and staff are invited to wear a pink shirt (with uniform bottoms) to represent our zero tolerance of bullying and exclusion at SJB.

OCSTA invites all CDSB students in grades 4-12 to create a 2-minute video highlighting how demonstrating care and respect for others gives witness to our faith. This year students were invited to create a 2-minute video demonstrating how the scriptural quote inspiring this year’s theme is reflected in how we treat and respect one another: “If we love one another, God lives in us” (1 John 4:12).

On Wednesday December 13th & Thursday December 14th, St Jean De Brébeuf will celebrate the 16th Annual Evening of Dance. Come out and enjoy performances by SJB's grades 9, 10 & 12 classes as well as SJB's elite dance crew SJBDC.

Each year, the St. Jean de Brébeuf C.S.S. community honours the students with the highest academic standing at our Honour Roll Awards Ceremony. This involves recognition of the Honour Roll’s top recipients by grade, and the Director’s Awards of Academic Excellence.

On Thursday, November 2, 2023, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is hosting Pathways Night, an annual event for all students in Grades 8-12+, and their parents. This year's event will take place in-person from 5:30pm - 8:00pm at LiUNA Station, 360 James Street North in Hamilton, Ontario.
