Programmania is an annual computer competition meticulously organized by the Business and Computer Department Heads within the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Founded in 2000 by the secondary school Business Computer Department Heads, Programmania serves as a platform for students to showcase their prowess in computing skills by competing against teams from various schools. This event unites the most talented individuals from the seven secondary schools within our board.
This year, St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School is privileged to host Programmania in the distinguished setting of our “Our Founders of Brébeuf” library. The competition entails a rigorous three-hour session of computer programming and coding challenges, interwoven with elements of enjoyment and camaraderie. Evaluation criteria emphasize both accuracy and speed, with esteemed recognition in the form of gold, silver, and bronze medals bestowed upon the top three teams. These victorious teams earn the opportunity to progress to the regional competition.
