On Tuesday, June 11th, St. Jean de Brébeuf CSS hosted the Village of Wentworth Heights, a proud community of vibrant seniors and caring professionals dedicated to enriching the lives of our elders. This event celebrated Seniors Month in Ontario, which marked the 9th year of its cherished #ElderWisdom campaign, a heartfelt initiative aimed at bridging generations and fostering meaningful conversations within our community.
#ElderWisdom is more than just a campaign; it's a movement that encourages society to tap into the profound knowledge, experiences, and insights our seniors have to offer. Every year, we bring the iconic green bench to public spaces, inviting community members to sit and engage in enriching conversations with our elders.
During 5th period students were invited to receive, "Stories from the Green Bench"! 45 students gathered with our esteemed elders, ready to be transported through time by captivating tales from their past. They read from their favorite books and shared invaluable life lessons.
Thank you to Mrs. Peric for helping to organize this memorable event for our school community.
