Ally Pledge
On Thursday, February 22nd, SJB Pride is hosting its annual Ally Pledge Day. Students and staff are invited to wear a pink shirt (with uniform bottoms) to represent our zero tolerance of bullying and exclusion at SJB.
SJB Pride is encouraging both our staff and students to come down and show their support and acceptance of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by signing our Ally Pledges in the auditorium foyer during lunch periods 3 and 4.
Why a Pink T-Shirt?
The idea comes from two incredible Nova Scotia high school students in 2007. When a fellow student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, they decided to take a stand. They went out and bought pink shirts to give to fellow students to show their support for a boy who was being bullied simply for wearing a pink shirt.
