SJB Welcomes Author David A. Robertson
On Tuesday, December 16, St. Jean de Brébeuf CSS had the honor of hosting two-time Governor General's Literary Award winner and acclaimed Indigenous author, David A. Robertson. A member of the Norway House Cree Nation and a resident of Winnipeg, Mr. Robertson is renowned for his works, including The Barren Grounds, a novel studied by our Grade 11 English students.
During his visit, students from Mr. Borsato's English classes had the opportunity to present their creative assignments inspired by The Barren Grounds directly to Mr. Robertson.
The event was a meaningful experience for our students, providing them with the chance to engage with a celebrated author. Mr. Robertson shared insights into his background, creative process, and the inspiration behind his writing, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
We extend our gratitude to Mr. Robertson for his visit and for inspiring our students with his story and his work.
