
St. Jean de Brébeuf C.S.S. students and families are asked to review the important information below regarding Semester 1 final evaluations and end-of-semester procedures.
Key Reminders

Book returns & outstanding items: Students writing exams must return textbooks to their classroom teacher. Outstanding textbooks, library books, uniforms/equipment, or fees may compromise a student’s ability to write exams.

Buses: Transportation will run on regular schedules during exam days. Students should make arrangements to return home once their exam is complete.

Cafeteria: The cafeteria will be the only designated quiet study area before exams; however, cafeteria food services will be unavailable during exam week. The last day for food sales is January 20, with food sales expected to resume by mid-February.

Exams begin promptly at 8:20 a.m.

Last day of classes (Semester 1): Wednesday, January 21, 2026 (half day for students)

Period 1 Exam: Thursday, January 22, 2026

Period 2 Exam: Friday, January 23, 2026

Period 3 Exam: Monday, January 26, 2026

Period 4 Exam: Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Period 5 Exam: Wednesday, January 28, 2026

PD Day (no school for students): Thursday, January 29, 2026

Exam Viewing Day / First Day of Semester 2: Friday, January 30, 2026
Important: During exam week, students attend school only on the days they have an exam (or an in-class final scheduled prior to exam week).
Student Success Support (Room 223)
Student Success (Room 223) will be open during exam week for students needing support with outstanding assignments:

Monday, Jan 26 & Tuesday, Jan 27 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Students who meet the criteria must reserve a spot by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21 by speaking with Mrs. Capretta, Mrs. Ricca, or Mr. Grice.
Demonstration of Learning (DOL) – Selected Grade 9 & 10 Courses
Some Grade 9 and 10 applied/destreamed courses may be eligible for Demonstration of Learning (DOL) in place of a final exam if all criteria are met, including:
Exam Viewing Day & Semester 2 Timetable (Friday, January 30)
Semester 2 classes run in the morning (Periods 1–5), followed by Semester 1 exam viewing in the afternoon. Students who wish to view exams must remain until the bell for each time block.
