Dear Parents/Guardians,
We’re excited to announce that our After-School Homework Club will be starting soon! This is a great opportunity for your child to complete homework with extra support, particularly in math, in a focused, structured environment.
When & Where:
-
Typically meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:45 PM in the library.
-
Occasionally, meetings may shift to a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to accommodate staff meetings.
Important Details:
-
Permission Forms: Students must have both a VP and Parent/Guardian signature on the application form to attend. The form includes essential details about the club and should be submitted to Mr. Hargot in Room 224.
-
First Session: Although our schedule shows the club starting next week, we need a minimum of 15 completed forms before we begin. Our school will make an announcement during morning announcements to confirm the official start date, which is usually about a week after parent-teacher interviews. (October 24, 2024)
-
Student Expectations: Although the form refers to "after-hours tutoring," the program is better described as a Homework Club. It is not designed for 1:1 tutoring; rather, it operates in a group setting with a teacher-student ratio of approximately 1:10 or 1:15. The focus of the club is to provide a supportive environment where students can work independently on their assignments, with a math teacher available to offer assistance as needed.
Forms:
-
Students are asked to please print and photocopy the two-page permission forms (application and general information). Students are asked to return the completed registration form to room 224 or to Student Success room 223 or the Guidance Office.
-
Once we begin, students can also bring their completed forms directly to the library during their first session.
We look forward to welcoming students and helping them succeed!
