On Wednesday, November 5th, all Grade 9 students at St. Jean de Brébeuf CSS will take part in Take Our Kids to Work Day, a national program that provides students with the opportunity to spend a day in the workplace, job shadowing a trusted adult. This experience helps students make connections between school and the working world, while giving them a first-hand look at different career pathways, responsibilities, and skills needed in today’s workforce.
How it Works
Students are encouraged to attend a workplace with:
-
A parent/guardian
-
A relative, neighbour, or family friend
-
Another approved adult (18+)
With parent/guardian approval, students may also attend a friend’s placement.
Important Information
-
Permission forms must be signed and returned to the Period 1 teacher by Thursday, October 31st.
-
Teachers will collect forms in the provided envelopes and check off each student’s name once submitted.
-
Any outstanding forms will be followed up after October 31st.
Our Goal
We want every Grade 9 student to have a meaningful workplace experience on November 5th. With your support, we can ensure all students take part in this valuable learning opportunity.
Thank you for helping make this initiative a success!
