As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to share important information about the upcoming June 2025 exam period and year-end procedures at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School. Below are some key highlights:

Key Information:

📖 Book Returns and Outstanding Items

• Students must return all textbooks to their classroom teachers. Library books, sports equipment, uniforms, and any borrowed items must also be returned.
       🔹 Students who dropped courses must return those textbooks.
       🔹 Grade 9–11 students issued a Board laptop must keep their device until graduation.

🚌 Buses

• Buses will run at regular times during exam days. Students are expected to leave once their exam is completed.

🍽️ Cafeteria Services

• The last day for food service in the cafeteria will be Wednesday, June 18. The space will remain open for studying, but no food will be sold after this date.

📝 Exam Calendar
Exams start daily at 8:20 a.m.

Any instance of academic dishonesty during an exam may result in a grade of zero, and parents/guardians will be promptly notified.

🤝 Special Education Support
Special Education Resource Teachers will contact students on their caseload regarding exam accommodations.

⚠️ Important Exam Day Information

• 🕘 Know your exam’s length and arrange transportation accordingly.

• ⏳ Students may leave 30 minutes before the end of the exam.

• 🚶‍♂️ Students arriving more than 45 minutes late must report to the Attendance Office.

• ❌ Only calculators are permitted — no other electronic devices allowed.

• 👔 Full uniform is required.

• 🎓 Graduating students must attend all classes until June 18.

✅ Demonstration of Learning (DOL)

• Eligible Grade 9 and 10 students who meet specific academic and attendance criteria may be exempt from writing their final exam.
• Students may still elect to write the exam if they or their parents/guardians choose.

🔓 Locker Clean-Out

• All lockers must be emptied by noon on June 27. Locks must remain on lockers.

🎓 Graduating Students – Uniform Donations

• Graduates who donate five gently used uniform items between June 9–13 will receive a uniform exemption slip for June 13–27.

👕 Uniform Reminders for 2025–2026

• ❌ Kilts and full-zip sweaters are no longer part of the uniform.

• 🧥 McCarthy’s is our uniform supplier (125 Nebo Road, Hamilton).

🧠 Exam Preparation Tips
Students should:

• ✏️ Bring all necessary writing materials (paper will be provided).

• 📴 Turn OFF cell phones during exams.

• 💤 Get enough sleep and 🥣 eat a healthy breakfast.

• 📚 Prepare and stay calm!
