Catholic School Council

Mission Statement
St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School

The Catholic School Council provides a collaborative structure where parents, staff, students, principals, community members, and parish representatives come together to support and enhance the education of our students.

Rooted in Catholic values, the council reinforces the school as an integral institution of the Church, working in partnership with the broader Church community. Together, we share the responsibility for fostering the spiritual growth and development of students as part of their overall education.

The purpose of the Catholic School Council is to actively engage parents in efforts to improve student achievement, enhance accountability within the education system, and promote the mission of Catholic education within the school community.

The Catholic School Council is committed to upholding and promoting the Mission and Vision of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board through its initiatives and activities.

While the role of the Catholic School Council is primarily advisory, it provides valuable input to assist the principal and, where appropriate, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board in making decisions on educational matters. This advice is grounded in Catholic principles, reflects the collective views of the school community, and prioritizes the best interests of all students.

The council operates within the framework of the Education Act, its regulations, and board policies, ensuring that its actions are aligned with these guidelines.
